Common Selection Bounds

Multiple selections share one bounding box.

Best experienced with a pointer.

The problem

Per-item handles make multi-select feel like many objects instead of one operable group.

The solution

Union bounds act as one grab target so the whole selection moves together.

How it works

  • Every selected item's rectangle is collected.
  • Those rectangles are unioned into one bounding box.
  • The shared box is what the user grabs, instead of a single item's frame.
  • Dragging the box moves every selected item by the same delta.
  • After the move, the union is recomputed so the frame still wraps the selection.
