Without a presence indicator, you don't know who else is currently viewing or editing.

A live avatar stack shows active participants with overflow counting.

How it works
- The room subscribes to presence rather than polling a member list.
- Join and leave events update the set of people who are active now.
- Those people render as an avatar stack, not a full roster.
- Arrivals and departures animate so the stack does not pop.
- When the stack overflows, extra people collapse into a count.
